Executive Coaching Case Study
Context
We were brought on board to work with a local practice group leader at a Global Law Firm. Her practice had experienced significant growth and she was considered for the position of Chair of a Global Practice Group. She had an excellent reputation in the industry and was skilled at managing clients and multi-jurisdictional teams of lawyers. Her goals included continuing to grow the business, managing the international team while continuing her personal practice and gaining a better understanding of multi-cultural groups of lawyers.
-
Executive Coaching Case Study
Process
First, the coach administered a personality assessment (Myers Briggs) and conducted 360 interviews to evaluate the partner’s strengths, blind spots and perception within the firm. Second, the coach and the partner reviewed the results to identify areas of opportunity and developed a Strategic Action Plan. The plan included the partner’s goals and benchmarks for measuring progress. Over 12 months, the coach regularly met the partner to review their progress and next steps. Upon request, the coach attended meetings to observe the partner interact with various groups and colleagues.

Strategic Consulting Case Study
Context
As part of their ongoing efforts to ensure the effective delivery of client services across geographies, a Global Professional Services firm engaged Simier Partners to conduct an organizational assessment of one of their East Coast offices. The leadership of the Office was not meeting performance expectations. The Office suffered from a cultural identity crisis and a lack of collaboration between product teams, as well as an increase in talent attrition. The main objective was to provide findings regarding the Office’s current culture and leadership structure and to use those findings to establish an effective leadership team in the Office that would be supported by training, coaching and leadership programs.
-
Strategic Consulting Case Study
Process
The engagement was conducted in three phases. In phase I, a group of senior team leaders, managers and employees responded to an online survey and were subsequently interviewed in person regarding their views of the Office culture, strategy, leadership, performance and succession planning. In phase II, the results from these surveys and interviews were submitted to management in a Report of Findings and Recommendations. Phase III consisted of the implementation of the recommendations that included training, coaching and leadership programs designed to foster partner collaboration, improving both the morale in the Office and its profitability.

Strategic Consulting Case Study
Impact
Firm management used our findings to name a new Office leader. The new leader established a new Strategic Business Plan for the Office in alignment with management’s expectations. The new leader and his team received leadership training and coaching for a year to assist them with challenges associated with the change. Collaboration increased and a positive cultural shift occurred. Productivity increased and the Office was able to attract and retain new talent.

Context
As a component of a larger Diversity and Inclusion Program, a Global Law Firm engaged Simier Partners to conduct a workshop on branding for a group of newly appointed women equity partners in order to help them understand the importance of proactively managing their personal brand.
-
Team Performance Case Study
Process
A coach conducted a half-day program followed by individual coaching sessions. Using an interactive format, the coach guided the participants through brainstorming, group discussions, individual and team activities around skills needed to manage their personal brand successfully. The workshop focused on three objectives: articulate, develop and manage your brand. The subsequent individual coaching sessions were focused on developing a personal strategic plan to sharpen each of their personal brands.

Professional Assessments Case Study
Context
We were engaged by a European nonprofit organization pursuing transatlantic business development with the United States. The assignment consisted of working with the Executive Director and her team to create a full-day team building workshop using the Myers Briggs Type Instrument (MBTI) in order to foster team collaboration, improve communication, manage change, resolve conflict and collectively solve problems.
-
Professional Assessments Case Study
Process
Prior to the workshop, team members completed the MBTI assessment and were individually debriefed about the results by the Simier Partners coach. The full-day workshop included a variety of group activities designed to establish trust within the team, help participants solve problems collectively and focus on diversity of styles and assumptions of leadership. Subsequent discussions focused on the team’s biggest professional challenges and successes and concluded with a session on team execution. Participants presented their goals and road map to success while examining ways to collaborate better and next steps for improvement.

Impact
Following the workshop, the executive team was able to gain alignment on how to operate as a team and hold each other accountable to the leadership. Collaboration increased greatly. For example, they were able to use the MBTI foundations and knowledge during the recruiting and hiring process for two new team members. It helped them anticipate what was necessary for successful hires and work on an integration plan for the team.
